Case study: Time stamp guidelines
Governance
Summary
Guidelines alone are insufficient without proper adoption from cross-platform teams, especially in a corporate environment with enterprise software platforms . A governance framework was established to ensure teams consistently follow UX standards and deliver outputs aligned with Figma designs.
Problem
Supply chain platform teams were not consistently adhering to UX guidelines or Figma specifications, leading to incorrect implementations and unintended user experience issues. These delays go-live dates and slower delivery times cause of constant back and forth edits to implementation
Approach
Define a structured collaboration model across all parties involviung UX, engineering, and product, with clear expectations on roles, checkpoints, and communication throughout delivery.
Solution
Implement a governance framework that requires:
-
Early UX involvement in all new features and enhancements
-
Dedicated time for research, design, and engineering alignment
-
UX review and approval before UAT to validate implementation
-
A strict rule: no UX sign-off, no UAT, and no go-live
Impact
-
Higher quality output upon delivery with fewer defects and less rework
-
More predictable and efficient execution through early alignment
-
Stronger accountability across teams and less blaming
-
Improving consistency of user experience across the platform
